Meet & Greet Marcy McNeal, New CEO

Dear NewAldaya Community:

After a thorough, extensive national search, I am pleased to announce that upon the unanimous recommendation of the NewAldaya Search Committee, the Board of Directors has named Marcy McNeal as the new CEO of NewAldaya Lifescapes. She will succeed Millisa Tierney, who has provided us with more than 31 years of outstanding leadership and committed service.

Marcy is a well-respected, experienced leader in the field of senior housing. In her previous role, she was the Administrator for Sunrise Hill Care & Rehab Center, a for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community in Traer, Iowa.

At Sunrise Hill she managed all day-to-day operations, financial review, staff and resident satisfaction, strategic planning, forecasting and budgeting. In addition, she headed the execution of COVID-19 policies and acquired deficiency-free control surveys from 2021 to 2023. The 2021 survey was the first such survey achieved in 16 years. During her time at Sunrise, she achieved a Bronze Commitment to Quality Award from the American Health Care Association (AHCA).

Marcy also was instrumental at eliminating agency staffing usage by leading recruitment efforts for new staff members, along with creative staffing implementation. She maximized census by 22% and oversaw the complete development of the company’s budget. On a personal level, she also gained recognition by receiving McKnight’s Rising Star Award in 2021.

Marcy previously served as an Interim Executive Director and consultant for Live Long and Prosper, a self-owned business. Before her consultant role, she was the Administrator of Record at Winterset Care Center North in Winterset, Iowa. Marcy also served on several AHCA committees and was named to AHCA’s quality award program as a Silver Level Examiner.

1.     What inspired you to join NewAldaya Lifescapes as CEO, and what do you hope to achieve in your new role?

Joining NewAldaya Lifescapes as CEO was inspired by my passion for senior care and my belief in the organization’s mission to enhance the lives of older adults. I was drawn to NewAldaya’s reputation for providing compassionate care and its commitment to innovation and excellence in senior living.

In my new role, I hope to build upon the strong foundation laid by my predecessors and lead NewAldaya Lifescapes to new heights of success. My overarching goal is to ensure that every resident receives the highest quality of care and support, enabling them to live fulfilling and dignified lives.

Specifically, I aim to enhance the overall resident experience by implementing innovative programs and services that promote wellness, engagement, and social connectedness. I also plan to cultivate a positive and supportive work culture among staff members, empowering them to deliver exceptional care with compassion and professionalism.

Additionally, I hope to foster strong partnerships with the local community and healthcare organizations to expand our network of support and resources for residents. By working collaboratively with stakeholders, I believe we can achieve greater outcomes and make a positive impact on the lives of older adults in our community.

Overall, my vision for NewAldaya Lifescapes is to be a leader in senior living, recognized for our unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and compassionate care. Together with the dedicated team at NewAldaya, I am confident that we can achieve this vision and continue to enrich the lives of those we serve.

2.     Community engagement is crucial in senior living environments. How do you plan to foster a sense of belonging and social connectedness among residents?

 Community engagement is at the heart of our mission. We’re dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere where every resident feels valued and connected. Our plan includes regular social events, group activities tailored to diverse interests, and creating spaces for meaningful interactions. We’ll also prioritize resident input, ensuring their voices shape our community initiatives. Together, we’ll build a warm and supportive environment where everyone feels a true sense of belonging.

3.     NewAldaya Lifescapes has a reputation for providing compassionate care. How do you plan to uphold and possibly enhance this aspect of the organization?

Additionally, we’ll leverage technology to improve communication and streamline processes, allowing our staff to focus more time on providing personalized care and attention to each resident. By fostering a culture of compassion and empathy at every level, we aim to not only uphold but also elevate our reputation for providing exceptional care.

4.     With the aging population increasing, what initiatives do you have in mind to adapt and meet the evolving needs of seniors in the Cedar Falls, Iowa community?

Our initiatives include expanding our range of services to encompass a holistic approach to senior care, including specialized memory care programs and rehabilitation services. Furthermore, we’re actively engaging with local organizations and healthcare providers to collaborate on community outreach programs and educational seminars focusing on senior wellness and healthy aging. By listening to the needs of our community and leveraging our resources effectively, we’re dedicated to ensuring that seniors in Cedar Falls receive the support and care they deserve as they age gracefully.
